Das normale hochreine Osmium kostet nicht viel mehr als ca 1400-1600 USD die Unze, obwohl es das rarste der Platinmetalle ist und im Jahr nur ca 100 kg davon hergestellt werden.

Es scheint, als wäre das Osmiuminstitut, die "die Preise" festlegt, Teil eines Scam-Netzwerks, das um Ingo Wolf kreist:

Basically all sites claim that only "their" crystallized osmium is valuable and that it is only to be bought with the "registration code" which makes it "legit" and "tradable". Ironically their websites where they sell their "premium osmium" does not reveal these codes on any order, but still you pay like 1600 bucks per gram instead of the typical ~40 bucks per gram. They also offer loads of weird "investment packages" which have a price tag but don't even tell you how much osmium you get due to "daily varying prices" which they of course analyse on their own website where prices go up every day.

So here is my whole research - avoid ANY OF THESE WEBSITES. Most are run by "ingo Wolf" or the typical 3 friends of him. Websites without Ingo Wolf in parantheses are Ingo Wolf, but i got tired of typing.
